Northern Morocco, dated 1306 A.H. (=1888)

The wooden stock is finished with a large bone section and inlaid with mother-of-pearl plates forming fleurons and rosettes. The flintlock lock features gold damascened koftgari decoration, as do the fluted and round barrel and counterplate. The wooden shaft is attached to the barrel by four hallmarked silver rings. The barrel, richly decorated with arabesques and foliage, is dated. Gold-damascened bronzed steel ramrod (minor wear, very good overall condition). L. 148 cm
