Three swords

Algeria, Kabylia, 17th and 19th centuries

With long, tapered steel blade inlaid with copper on both sides and engraved with chevron motifs, strong carved and engraved blade back, dog-head handle. The two metal swords are accompanied by their carved wooden scabbards with geometric motifs. The sword without scabbard has a wooden handle and punched blade. L. 75 cm ; 95 cm ; 89 cm. Provenance : Jean-Charles Tauzin Collection (1889-1957)
