Gouache with gold highlights, on cardboard page. The haloed and adorned maharani, dressed in a transparent white muslin gown over a speckled pink paijama, holding a spear in her left hand, passes to the left on a richly caparisoned and harnessed horse, the lower half of her body tinted red*. In the background, a palace enclosure. (Small chips, restoration, small tear in lower right corner, frame) Frame size: 51 x 40 cm; Page size: 38 x 26.7 cm *The red tint, applied to the underside of the horses, symbolizes the blood of enemies crushed in battle under the horse's feet.
