Pilgrim's flask

Ottoman or Mughal Empire, 16th century

Parchment, heart-shaped, with small neck and thick lip. The decoration is finely incised and enhanced with gold leaf, silver and red pigment. Although incomplete, a typical Deccan flower vase can be seen, framed by floral foliage punctuated by birds. 22 x 20 cm Provenance : Private collection, Paris.
