Ottoman Turkey, 19th century

Arabic calligraphy in black ink on paper, pasted onto an album page with orange margins. Qita, of four lines, the first in thuluth, and the other four in naskhi within jagged clouds, framed by two bouquets on a pitted gold background, and ending with two cartouches in divani, the one on the left giving the calligrapher's name "Ahmad Al-Hamedi Afi" and a date. Size: 22 x 31.5 cm Provenance : Private collection, Paris. Religious invocation, signed Ahmad Al-Hamedi Afi, Ottoman Turkey, dated 1267H./1850
