Two bottles Surahi

Central Asia, 19th century

With pear-shaped body with four gripping rings, resting on a wide circular heel and high neck, in ceramic with gold-painted decoration on a thick turquoise glaze (small chips). H. 37 cm The four grip rings seem to suggest that these bottles were intended for transport, and that they were securely fastened with a strap passing through them.
