KAYAPÓ INDIAN TIARA, BRAZIL

Mehinako tribe. Mounted on a braided cotton spinneret, adorned with amazon aurou feathers. The center is adorned with two large yellow and blue rectal feathers and a large chloropteran macaw rectal feather. Height: 55 cm, width: 34 cm. Very fine condition, unframed. II/B, Amazona amazonica, II/B, Ara ararauna, IIB, Ara chloroptera. Collected between 1954 and 1977. Pre-convention specimens exempt from any prohibition on sale. Provenance Marcel Isy-Schwart Collection (1917 - 2012), kept by the family.
