Three cedar wood friezes

Morocco, 17th-19th century

Cedar wood panels carved with intertwining poly-lobed arches featuring plant palmettes. The frieze is topped with a band of shamrocks alternating in series of four. Wear and remains of polychrome pigments. 28 x 220 cm; 28 x 184 cm; 30 x 173 cm. Label on back: "Arts indigènes", customs 1939. Fès, and customs stamp Provenance: Jean-Charles Tauzin Collection (1889-1957)
