Beautiful epigraphic Nimcha
Morocco, circa 1830
Strong steel gutter blade, hallmarked, metal guard inlaid with koftgari gold, with Arabic inscriptions, fine brown horn handle. The brown Moroccan-covered scabbard is embroidered with silver thread forming a decoration of flowers and arabesques, with chased and embossed silver caps and bolsters decorated with arabesques and lozenges. L.100 cm Inscriptions: Qasidat al-Burda Qasidat al-Burda (The Ode of the Mantle) by al-Busiri (d. 1294).
