Her powerful, generous thighs evoke a concept of fertility. Her body is adorned with ceremonial paintings and her beautiful headdress is arranged with a circular braid and sagittal crest. Orange terracotta with red decoration Olmec, Mexico, 1150 - 900 B.C. 13.5 x 6.5 x 3.3 cm Provenance: former Nicholas Stoetzer collection, 1969.
